Through these consultations, local public authorities (LPA), service operators, and community members from Edine\u021b, Str\u0103\u0219eni, and Leova districts gained knowledge on strategic waste management planning at the local level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The guide is set to help local authorities and service operators to strategically plan and follow methods of waste reduction, promotion of recycling, improvement of waste collection systems, waste disposal and investment planning. Implementation of these guidelines will improve waste management infrastructure and services for these communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The consultations also involved discussions on the methodology used to determine tariffs for public municipal waste management services, a topic that garnered significant interest from the participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An important outcome of the meetings was the commitment to cooperation among participants in delivering high-quality and accessible waste management services to the population. This collaborative approach shows the dedication of local authorities and community members to improve waste management practices and infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These efforts are expected to contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment, ultimately enhancing the quality of life in these communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The &#8220;EU4Moldova: Local Communities&#8221; programme, led by Team Europe, is driving these positive changes. Running until 2025, the initiative aims to enhance the quality of life in Edine\u021b, Str\u0103\u0219eni, and Leova districts, with waste management being a crucial aspect of sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The events took place within the &#8220;EU4Moldova: Local Communities&#8221; programme, financed by the European Union, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland \u2013 Polish aid; and jointly implemented by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ, the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and the Solidarity Fund PL (SFPL) in Moldova.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The &#8220;EU4Moldova: Local Communities&#8221; programme has supported the Ministry of the Environment in the development of the Methodological Guide for the Development of Local Waste Management Programs (PLGD) and in carrying out three rounds of public consultations focused on it.
