A cyclic biological treatment plant and a wastewater pumping station with a siphoning and desilting plant were built and sewerage networks were installed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Access to the sewerage system means conditions for a dignified life. At the same time, it has a direct impact on the quality of the environment and makes it easier to attract investment, as we are becoming a destination for entrepreneurs, who have access to all utilities,&#8221; said Sergiu Gu\u0219evati, mayor of Sculeni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The treatment plant eliminates the negative health and environmental effects of wastewater discharges on surface and groundwater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Thanks to the EU and UNDP, we, the entrepreneurs operating in the locality, as well as those who want to open a business, have the opportunity to benefit from a public wastewater collection and treatment infrastructure, which ensures that we are able to comply with environmental requirements. With the provision of modern sanitation infrastructure, the potential for business expansion has also increased and we hope that this will improve the standard of living and the comfort and civilisation of the inhabitants,&#8221; said C\u0103lin Rica, a local entrepreneur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The construction works took place during September 2022 \u2013 October 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEU4Moldova: Focal regions\u201d programme (2019-2024) supports smart, inclusive, and sustainable socio-economic development in the Cahul and Ungheni regions to bring a better quality of life to citizens.
