In 2024, the share of exports from the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova to European Union (EU) member states recorded a significant increase, reaching 83% of the region\u2019s total exports. The main destinations for Transnistrian exports to EU markets were Romania, Poland, Italy, Germany, and the Czech Republic.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, imports from the EU into Transnistria accounted for 54%. This trend reflects the strengthening of the region\u2019s trade relations with European markets and a deeper economic alignment with the rules of the single market (both national and European).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the past years, the requirement for all external commercial transactions to pass through control points monitored by Moldova\u2019s Customs Service, and based on national permits, has had a substantial impact on the region\u2019s economic reintegration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Changes in logistical chains have further redirected the region\u2019s trade activity towards EU markets. Moreover, this has reinforced the connection between the two banks of the Nistru river, highlighting that the European integration process is helping to harmonise trade and economic standards and procedures across the entire country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The European Union has been and continues to be a reliable partner for Moldova, supporting economic development and the wellbeing of citizens on both banks of the Nistru river.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to data from the Bureau of Reintegration Policies, exports from Transnistria to the EU have increased over the past decade, rising from 64.4% in 2014 to 83% in 2024.
