The event will be held from 28 to 30 March 2025 at the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, where participants will take on the roles of Members of the European Parliament, European Commissioners, political advisors, and journalists, engaging in debates and negotiations that mirror real EU decision-making dynamics.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the course of the three days, participants will learn through hands-on experience how to build political alliances, negotiate European legislation, draft amendments, and make decisions at the EU level. Before the plenary session, they will attend training workshops, where they will dive into the topics to be debated, the institutional mechanisms of the EU, negotiation techniques, and the art of public speaking. MEU Moldova aims to stimulate critical thinking, effective communication, cooperation, and leadership among participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Young people aged between 16 and 25 are invited to apply for MEU 2025 by 16 February 2025, by completing the application form available&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/model-european-union-moldova\/\">here<\/a>. No prior knowledge of European institutions, international relations, or political science is required\u2014the only prerequisite is the desire to learn and experience the European decision-making process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMEU is a project created by young people for young people. The EU\u2019s bureaucratic process is complex and often little-known to the general public. This simulation offers a unique opportunity to understand how European institutions work and to experience the role of an EU official. Participants will learn what a parliamentary debate involves, how to propose an amendment, and how a legislative proposal is voted on. We want them to become ambassadors of European values, promoting understanding and transparency in the EU decision-making process,\u201d said Mihai \u021aurcanu, an active participant in the first MEU edition in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMEU is more than just a simulation \u2013 it\u2019s a practical learning opportunity where young people develop essential skills such as research, negotiation, debate, and public speaking. We hope that this year\u2019s edition will involve even more young people eager to deepen their knowledge of the EU and hone their strategic thinking. The experience of the first edition showed just how valuable this initiative is for both the professional and personal development of the participants,\u201d said Anastasia E\u0219anu, the national coordinator of the project \u201c#EU4Youth: Empowering and Engaging Young People.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first edition of the Model European Union Moldova, held in April 2024, brought together over 80 young people.
