89 companies from the Republic of Moldova have received grants totaling 28.5 million lei. Investments in the economy amount to 57 million lei. The funds will be used for the purchase of high-performance equipment, process digitalization, and consultancy services. This financial support translates into more competitive businesses, better-paid jobs, and greater opportunities for citizens across the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The support comes from the Government of the Republic of Moldova, which is providing 18 million lei to 47 companies. The European Union is supporting another 40 companies with 9.5 million lei, and two companies are backed by the World Bank Group with almost 866 thousand lei. All these grants are provided through various programs managed by the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, these companies employ 674 people. With the help of the grants, at least 400 new jobs will be created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Doina Nistor, emphasized the importance of investments that support local businesses focused on innovation and added value:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs different as they may be, all these businesses contribute to a common goal: creating products with added value and fostering innovation. Our economy needs this more than ever. If we want real growth, we must produce more than just raw materials \u2013 we must transform, process, innovate. And these entrepreneurs are already doing just that,\u201d said Deputy Prime Minister Doina Nistor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\u00e1t\u00e9 Csicsai, Charg\u00e9 d’affaires ad interim of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, highlighted the positive impact of EU grants and the continued commitment of the EU to the development of the SME sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhenever my team and I conduct working missions in different regions of the Republic of Moldova, we make an effort to visit small and medium-sized enterprises that have already benefited from EU grants. We are always pleased to see that the grants are being strategically used by entrepreneurs \u2013 whether for greening their businesses, digitalization, or equipment modernization \u2013 thus contributing to job creation and market expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are also glad to see that many of these businesses are family-owned. The European Union will undoubtedly continue to support SMEs, as they are a key driving force in strengthening Moldova\u2019s economy and an essential pillar of the recently approved Growth Plan for Moldova,\u201d said M\u00e1t\u00e9 Csicsai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, Vadim Codreanu, Director of the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development, emphasized the growing interest of entrepreneurs and the diversity of support programs available to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe interest of entrepreneurs in grants confirms that when support is available, businesses thrive. Today, 21 companies are signing contracts through the Tourism Program, 30 through the Women Entrepreneurship Program, 14 businesses are supported by the Start for Youth Program, and 8 through the Re-Technologization Program. Another 14 companies received funding through the PARE 1+2 and Green Economy Programs, and two companies are receiving non-reimbursable financing through the Competitiveness Program. Each grant program is designed to meet the real needs of the business environment,\u201d said Vadim Codreanu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is worth mentioning that, since the beginning of the year, 220 companies have received grants through ODA, totaling 97 million lei. This financial support will generate investments of over 189 million lei in Moldova\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of these, 162 are funded from the state budget, 54 benefit from financial support provided by the European Union through the \u201cEuropean Union for Small and Medium Enterprises\u201d project, and four companies have been funded by the World Bank Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
