On May 7, 2025, the grand final of the national EuroQuiz 2025 competition took place at the Palace of the Republic. The event brought together 41 teams from across Moldova, including Chi\u0219in\u0103u \u2013 over 200 students in total \u2013 who demonstrated their knowledge of the European Union\u2019s history, institutions, values, and Moldova\u2019s European integration journey.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a spirited competition, the top prize went to the \u201cBalofaghi\u201d team from Axentie Doljnenco Theoretical Lyceum in Vulc\u0103ne\u0219ti district. Second place was won by the \u201cVitejii\u201d team from Mihai Viteazul Lyceum in Chi\u0219in\u0103u, and third place went to the \u201cCinci Ha\u0219i\u201d team from Spiru Haret Lyceum, also in Chi\u0219in\u0103u.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Maia Sandu, attending the event, spoke to the participants about the benefits of European integration, emphasizing that EU accession will open up new perspectives and opportunities for the younger generation: \u201cMoldova is heading towards the EU because we want a better life for everyone \u2013 and young people will benefit the most from this choice.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, noted: <\/strong>\u201cEuroQuiz is more than a competition. You are all finalists of this first edition. It\u2019s a way of bringing Europe closer to our homes. Europe is about people and solidarity, and you have worked together in that spirit \u2013 you\u2019ve formed a team. The European Union is also a team of 27 member states, and Moldova wants to be part of this great European family.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister of Education and Research, Dan Perciun, highlighted: \u201cYour active participation shows you\u2019re ready to become informed, engaged European citizens, able to contribute to building a Moldova aligned with European values.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EU Ambassador to Moldova, J\u0101nis Ma\u017eeiks, added: \u201cThe knowledge you\u2019ve gained through EuroQuiz is a solid foundation for understanding the European integration process and a step forward in shaping a new generation of European citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swedish Minister for European Affairs, Jessica Rosencrantz, also present at the ceremony, said: \u201cI\u2019m convinced that Moldova\u2019s European future is in good hands.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winners of EuroQuiz 2025 will travel to Brussels \u2013 the heart of the European Union. All 200+ finalists will also attend a summer camp in Romania. Coordinating teachers received recognition diplomas, educational games, backpacks, and book vouchers in appreciation of their dedication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
