On 20th June, 13 women entrepreneurs from the Edine\u021b, Str\u0103\u0219eni and Leova regions were awarded with an investment financial support during a special Award Ceremony held under the EU4Moldova: Local Communities programme.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The event marked another milestone in empowering women economically in rural and semi-urban areas of Moldova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The selected beneficiaries received financial support of up to EUR 2,000 per project, awarded through an open competition designed to strengthen and expand women-led businesses. The aim of this initiative is to enhance local economic opportunities, build entrepreneurial skills and initiative for diversifying the rural economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, the supported projects span a wide range of sectors, including agriculture digitalization, rural tourism, beekeeping, local food processing and promotion, beauty and wellness services, catering, creative design, woodworking, metal crafting, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ilona Gruenewald, Programme Manager at EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, emphasized the vital role of women in local development: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The entrepreneurs we are supporting today are driving change in their communities by introducing new ideas, live and energy, creating jobs, services, social and cultural activities- overall \u201arolling up the sleeves, not only for themselves but for building a better future”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event also featured a panel discussion, where the women entrepreneurs shared their experiences, challenges, and ambitions, highlighting their growing contribution to the economic development of their regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The financial support programme was a follow-up to a series of capacity-development sessions that took place earlier this year. During this, over 60 women from Edine\u021b, Str\u0103\u0219eni and Leova participated in a dedicated training programme aimed at strengthening their business skills in access to business funding and financial supports, accounting and taxation, and marketing and promotion strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This support initiative is part of the EU4Moldova: Local Communities programme\u2019s broader commitment to promoting gender equality, inclusive economic growth, and sustainable regional development in the Republic of Moldova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
