The conclusions of the 2025 Enlargement Report, published by the European Commission recently, were presented to the Moldovan public in a large-scale conference held yesterday in Chisinau, in the presence of Commissioner for Enlargement, Moldovan Prime Minister and members of the Government and the Parliament.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the opening of the event, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu spoke about the Government’s determination to continue the necessary reforms to accelerate the Republic of Moldova’s accession to the European Union. The official noted that, \u201cIn just one year, the Republic of Moldova has registered four times greater progress, despite all the difficulties, thanks to the people who did not stop working and, in recent years, have worked tenfold. We know we have a lot of work to do, but our path is sure – our home is Europe.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The special invitee of the event, European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, congratulated the Republic of Moldova for the progress made: “The Republic of Moldova has made the greatest annual progress among all candidate states and I am very proud of you. You are truly determined to become a member state of the European Union. The progress you have made is significant and consistent. Your ambitions are very high, but they are also realistic<\/em>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event included presentations by ministers and experts from the civil society on all of the negotiation clusters, mentioning also the challenges in the reforms implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Report conclusions, the Republic of Moldova has significantly advanced on its accession path, successfully completing the screening process. The Commission’s assessment is that Moldova has met the conditions required to open clusters: one (fundamentals), six (external relations), and two (internal market).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Conference was organized by the Bureau for European Integration, with the support of the EU-funded project \u2018Moldova is Europe \u2013 Support for EU Integration\u2019, as well as the regional project “Public Administration Reform in the Eastern Partnership Countries”, implemented by GIZ with the financial support of the German Government. It brough together over 200 participants from public administration, business associations, academia and media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
