Throughout 2025, six localities in the Republic of Moldova were equipped with fire engines intended to improve emergency response capacity and enhance the safety of local communities. The vehicles were donated by the Wielkopolska Voivodeship of Poland, and their delivery to Moldova was made possible with the support of the European Union and Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova, within the project <\/strong>\u201cEU4Moldova Resilience \u2013 Secure State, Resilient Communities.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fire engines are intended for localities where Volunteer Firefighters and Rescuers Posts are already operating or are to be established. The beneficiary localities are C\u0103line\u0219ti (F\u0103le\u0219ti district), Gura B\u00eecului (Anenii Noi district), Sofia (Drochia district), Pepeni (S\u00eengerei district), C\u0103rpineni (H\u00eence\u0219ti district), and Sire\u021bi (Str\u0103\u0219eni district).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The six fire engines are fully operational and were withdrawn from active service by volunteer fire brigades in the Wielkopolska Voivodeship, Poland, as part of a fleet modernization process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are pleased to support the development of local emergency services and to strengthen solidarity between our communities,\u201d<\/em> stated Krzysztof Grabowski, Vice-Marshal of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship, Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova is implementing the project \u201cEU4Moldova Resilience \u2013 Secure State, Resilient Communities,\u201d<\/em> funded by the European Union. Through this project, 10 localities in the Republic of Moldova benefit from grants for the construction from scratch of volunteer firefighter and rescuer posts, while another 9 localities receive support for the renovation of existing posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThrough the synergy of these interventions, local communities receive a comprehensive support package\u2014fire engines, modern infrastructure, and equipment for firefighters\u2014which enables the strengthening of volunteer fire brigades at the local level,\u201d<\/em> highlighted Iwona Pi\u00f3rko, Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova.  <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 2021 to the present, Solidarity Fund PL has contributed to equipping 10 localities in the Republic of Moldova with emergency response vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur organization\u2019s objective is to expand and strengthen the national network of volunteer firefighters and rescuers. The support provided to local communities directly contributes to saving lives and increasing their safety,\u201d<\/em> added Tomasz Horbowski, Director of Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
