The event was held simultaneously in four locations \u2014 Orhei, Kyiv, Skopje, and Yerevan \u2014 bringing together mayors and deputy mayors from the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, Armenia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Kosovo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/55091898559_56ffbac33b_o-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-146182\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/55091898559_56ffbac33b_o-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/55091898559_56ffbac33b_o-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/55091898559_56ffbac33b_o-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/55091898559_56ffbac33b_o-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/55091898559_56ffbac33b_o-2048x1365.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of the workshop was to develop and strengthen mayors\u2019 leadership capacities so they can better address the challenges faced by local communities, including economic resilience, the transition to a green economy, digital transformation, social inclusion, and energy crises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor me, the workshop was a true school of leadership. As a mayor, I am used to making decisions and coordinating complex processes, but here I learned to look at challenges from a new perspective \u2014 to distinguish between technical issues and those that require deeper changes in mindsets and behaviour,\u201d said Leonid Boaghi, mayor of Sire\u021bi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/55091837453_f5f46d6744_o-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-146179\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/55091837453_f5f46d6744_o-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/55091837453_f5f46d6744_o-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/55091837453_f5f46d6744_o-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/55091837453_f5f46d6744_o-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/55091837453_f5f46d6744_o-2048x1365.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Other participants highlighted the importance of community engagement in transformation and local development processes. In the same vein, Alexandru Bujorean, mayor of Leova, emphasised the role of dialogue and collaboration with local stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe workshop provided not only knowledge but also a space to reflect on my role as a leader. I better understood how to engage local actors based on people\u2019s needs.
