Nearly 300 children and 36 teaching staff now benefit from a modern, safe and energy-efficient educational environment following extensive renovation works carried out at the largest early childhood education institution in ATU Gagauzia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kindergarten No. 8 \u201cAndrie\u0219\u201d in Cead\u00eer-Lunga was renovated under the project \u201cEU4Moldova Resilient: Secure State, Strong Communities\u201d, funded by the European Union and implemented by Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova. The total budget of the works amounted to approximately 6 million MDL, of which around 4 million MDL were allocated by the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The works included thermal insulation of the building, modernisation of the internal heating system, as well as installation of photovoltaic panels with a capacity of 30 kW, which will contribute to reducing operational costs, promoting the use of green energy and lowering CO\u2082 emissions. In addition, a storage room for food products was renovated, and the surrounding area of the kindergarten was fully upgraded \u2013 including alleys, pavements, access roads and an open-air stage for educational and cultural activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese are undoubtedly the most extensive renovation works ever carried out in this institution. We are talking about the largest kindergarten in ATU Gagauzia, with a large territory and several buildings. Now, thanks to our external partners, especially the European Union, we can say that we are offering our children a warm, safe and welcoming place,\u201d said Mihail Stamov, Deputy Mayor of Cead\u00eer-Lunga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The kindergarten is attended by 278 children organised into 13 groups, aged between 1 and 7 years, including children with special educational needs and refugee children from Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBefore the renovation, we had cold classrooms in winter and high heating costs. Today, we enjoy a comfortable environment for all children and our 36 educators. Moreover, this season we have reduced gas consumption by 35%, which means significant savings for the institution and resources that can be invested directly in children\u2019s education,\u201d said Natalia C\u00eev\u00eerjic, Director of Kindergarten No. 8 \u201cAndrie\u0219\u201d in Cead\u00eer-Lunga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inauguration event was also attended by the European Union Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Iwona Pi\u00f3rko, who highlighted the tangible impact of EU investments in local communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis project is comprehensive and of major regional importance. Investments in education and energy efficiency are investments in the future. Through such initiatives, the European Union supports not only infrastructure, but also the well-being of children, families and communities across the Republic of Moldova,\u201d said Iwona Pi\u00f3rko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The renovation of Kindergarten \u201cAndrie\u0219\u201d is part of a total of five urban revitalisation projects implemented by Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova, with the support of the European Union, under the \u201cEU4Moldova Resilient\u201d initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese projects demonstrate that well-targeted investments can radically improve the quality of life at the local level. We are pleased to contribute to creating safe, efficient and child-friendly spaces for the community,\u201d said Tomasz Horbowski, Director of Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
