More than 20,000 people from nine districts across the Republic of Moldova discovered\u2014in an engaging and entertaining way\u2014how the European Union supports their communities. The events, organised as part of the \u201cShow Nebun\u201d (Crazy Show) Caravan, combined humor, music, and interactive activities, offering a dynamic platform to showcase how the EU contributes to improving the well-being of Moldovan citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European Union (EU) Caravan in Moldova, \u201cShow Nebun,\u201d has concluded its visits across the country after four months of events that brought the European Union closer to people through an original format full of humor, interaction, and positive energy. Between May and September 2025, the caravan transformed the district centers of Soroca, Edine\u021b, Cantemir, S\u00eengerei, C\u0103u\u0219eni, Rezina, Drochia, Anenii Noi, and R\u00ee\u0219cani into vibrant entertainment stages. National and local artists combined entertainment with informative messages about European Union funded projects implemented in key areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, and support for youth and local businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In total, more than 20,000 people\u2014from young people and teachers to entrepreneurs, public officials, older persons, and children\u2014discovered in a friendly and accessible way what the European Union means for the Republic of Moldova and for citizens\u2019 everyday lives, while also engaging with core EU values such as solidarity, inclusiveness, equality, and respect for human dignity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entertainment and information about the EU in a unique format<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The events combined comedy and music shows with interactive activities. Zebra Show, Gabriel Nebunu, and local artists brought smiles and good cheer to the stage, turning humor and music into tools for bringing communities closer to Europe. The audience enjoyed artistic performances, prize quizzes, community activities, and an information point where they learned about grants, business opportunities, and European projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The relaxed atmosphere and direct dialogue turned each stop of the caravan into a true community celebration, where information and the European spirit blended with fun and local solidarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was a great show! We laughed, sang, danced, and learned many new things about the European Union and how it supports our district<\/em>,\u201d said Petru, an entrepreneur from Soroca district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI really enjoyed the concert. Through music, and especially through the comedy show, I better understood how the European Union helps people in our region by supporting areas such as healthcare, services, and activities for everyone<\/em>,\u201d added Valentina, a pensioner from Cantemir district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe European Union brings real opportunities for Moldova, and for me it was a great joy to perform in front of so many people and to share a piece of our Moldovan soul through music. The caravan showed me how important it is to combine tradition with innovation, and EU support helps us develop the country while preserving our culture<\/em>,\u201d said Gabriel Nebunu, folk music performer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe European Union is not something abstract\u2014it means prosperity, better roads, modern schools, and opportunities for everyone. We wanted to bring the EU closer to people through humor, the most direct way to communicate. We hope that through our jokes we managed to debunk some myths and inform the public about the support provided. If people went home laughing and better informed, then we have done our job<\/em>,\u201d added the members of Zebra Show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An open dialogue about Europe<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cShow Nebun\u201d Caravan combined elements of musical performance, improvisation, and stand-up comedy with messages about Moldova\u2019s European path, bringing people closer to the reality of EU-funded projects. The events created a space for open dialogue, where citizens felt that the European Union is not just an institution, but a partner actively involved in the daily life of communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Context<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EU Caravan \u201cShow Nebun,\u201d held between 15 May and 23 September 2025, was organized by Europe Caf\u00e9, the EU Information Centre in Chi\u0219in\u0103u, with the financial support of the European Union. The Caravan\u2019s partner is the EU Neighbours East programme. Under the slogan \u201cThe EU comes to your city with an \u2018informative crazy show\u2019!\u201d, the campaign aimed to bring Europe to Moldova\u2019s regions in a relaxed and accessible format through comedy and music performances, quizzes, educational activities, and direct interaction with people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
