The seminars were organized in Chi\u0219in\u0103u, B\u0103l\u021bi and Comrat within the <strong>Team Europe Initiative \u201cSustainable Food Systems.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The events were organized by the <strong>Czech Development Agency (CzDA)<\/strong>, in partnership with <strong>Solidarity Fund PL<\/strong> and in collaboration with the <strong>Agricultural and Rural Advisory Center<\/strong> and aimed to facilitate the transfer of European expertise and promote sustainable crops adapted to new climate conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bilateral cooperation and support for sustainable agriculture<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the opening of the seminar held in Chi\u0219in\u0103u, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Moldova, <strong>His Excellency Jarom\u00edr Pl\u00ed\u0161ek<\/strong>, highlighted the importance of bilateral cooperation in agriculture and the continuous support provided by the Czech Republic for the development of Moldova\u2019s agri-food sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cAgriculture has always been a priority area of cooperation between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Moldova. Industrial hemp cultivation is relevant both for adapting to drought and for modern and environmentally friendly solutions.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2014 <strong>H.E. Jarom\u00edr Pl\u00ed\u0161ek<\/strong>, <strong>Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Moldova<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Transfer of expertise from the Czech Republic<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A key element of the seminar was the participation of the Czech expert <strong>Marie Bjelkov\u00e1<\/strong>, a specialist in the breeding and cultivation of industrial hemp. She presented the experience of European Union Member States regarding cultivation technologies, harvesting and processing, as well as examples of economic valorization of hemp-derived products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cIndustrial hemp has real potential in Moldova, but success depends on the correct application of technologies and the development of the value chain.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2014 <strong>Dr. Marie Bjelkov\u00e1<\/strong>, <strong>Agritec Plant Research s.r.o., Czech Republic<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The seminar also included practical information on the selection of varieties, compliance with cultivation technologies and the importance of processing for creating added value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Regulatory framework and sector development<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the event, the legislative provisions regarding the cultivation and certification of industrial hemp in the Republic of Moldova were also presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Viaceslav Grigori\u021ba<\/strong>, President of the Association of Hemp Producers and Processors in Moldova, emphasized the importance of strengthening the value chain and investing in processing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThe sector has growth potential, but it is essential to invest in processing and develop specialized knowledge for farmers.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2014 <strong>Viaceslav Grigori\u021ba<\/strong>, <strong>President of the Association of Hemp Producers and Processors in Moldova<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Relevance for farmers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Farmers who have already tested the crop shared practical experiences from the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cHemp is a crop that requires investment and complete infrastructure, but it has proven to be stable and resilient. Interest from other producers is growing.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2014 <strong>Ion Grecu<\/strong>, <strong>agricultural producer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Funding opportunities for farmers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the seminar, representatives of <strong>Solidarity Fund PL (SFPL)<\/strong> presented funding opportunities available to farmers interested in developing activities related to industrial hemp. Participants were informed about support mechanisms and grant opportunities dedicated to investments in processing and modernization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This component complements the transfer of technical expertise by providing farmers not only with knowledge but also with concrete tools for implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the project<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Team Europe Initiative \u201cSustainable Food Systems\u201d<\/strong> is funded by the <strong>European Union and the Czech Republic<\/strong> and implemented by the <strong>Czech Development Agency<\/strong>, <strong>Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova<\/strong>, and the <strong>Latvian Rural Advisory and Training Centre<\/strong>.
