The area once hosted a vibrant market, serving merchants, diplomats, and caravans traveling between Podolia and Moldova. The tower also functioned as an entrance gate to the old cemetery and reflects the coexistence of multiple religious communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/702659522_1413065307532325_438279421712275417_n-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-151205\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/702659522_1413065307532325_438279421712275417_n-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/702659522_1413065307532325_438279421712275417_n-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/702659522_1413065307532325_438279421712275417_n-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/702659522_1413065307532325_438279421712275417_n-1536x1025.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/702659522_1413065307532325_438279421712275417_n.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the restoration, the historic roof has been reconstructed using around 10 m\u00b3 of wood and covered with traditional wooden shingles.
