The city is expected to reduce its energy consumption for public lighting by almost 40%.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span>C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i became a signatory of the EU-funded initiative \u2018Covenant of Mayors East\u2019 in 2010, and so far has benefited from significant support from the EU.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span>\u201cThanks to EU support of \u20ac1,258,000, we have modernised a public preschool in our town. The preschool uses three types of energy: solar, geothermal and electric panels.
