The first two training modules will focus on <strong>epidemic intelligence<\/strong> and <strong>rapid risk assessment<\/strong>, with the overall aim of empowering professionals in partner countries\u2019 to <strong>better face the threats to public health posed by infectious diseases<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The trainings will be provided in English (<strong>19-23 April 2021<\/strong>) and in Russian (<strong>4-10 May 2021<\/strong>). Understanding the need to rapidly assess threats from infectious disease or of unknown origin and building capacity to perform rapid risk assessments are among the objectives of these trainings.<\/p>\n<p>A third training activity on the use of \u2018epitweetr\u2019 &#8211; an interactive tool to help with the automatised early detection of public health threats using Twitter data &#8211; will take place on 15 June 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The EU Initiative on Health Security, funded by the European Union and implemented by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, aims to set up a regional competent workforce for the prevention and control of challenges posed by transferable diseases and to enhance regional cooperation to tackle cross-border health security threats.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read more<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecdc.europa.eu\/en\/news-events\/ecdc-organises-first-training-modules-framework-eu-initiative-health-security\">Press release<\/a><\/p>\n<p>EU Initiative on Health Security\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecdc.europa.eu\/en\">website<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mobility &amp; people-to-people contacts Health Economic and social cooperation Health The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) is organising the first of many capacity building activities to be provided to EU neighbouring countries as part of the new EU Initiative on Health Security.
