It follows \u20ac400 million of EIB financing for COVAX agreed last December, which represented the EIB\u2019s largest ever support for global public health.<\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>The new EIB financing for COVAX is expected to be guaranteed by the European Fund for Sustainable Development<\/span><\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\" lang=\"EN-GB\" lang=\"EN-GB\"><span><span>,<\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span> and <\/span><\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\" lang=\"EN-GB\" lang=\"EN-GB\"><span><span>to <\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span>strengthen <\/span><\/span><\/span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.euneighbours.eu\/en\/east-south\/stay-informed\/news\/coronavirus-european-union-launches-team-europe-package-support\"><span><span>Team Europe<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><span><span><span> support for COVAX alongside grant support from the European Commission. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>The EU is one of the biggest supporters of\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/initiatives\/act-accelerator\/covax\"><span><span><span>COVAX<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><span><span><span>, a ground-breaking global collaboration to accelerate the development, production, and equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines.
