Existing com<\/em><\/strong>panies, start-ups and community initiatives from Ungheni region benefit from grants in total amount of 450,000 EUR. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

15 entrepreneurs from Ungheni region received grants of 15,000 EUR – 30,000 EUR each, the assistance provided by the European Union for private sector development for the second call of grants conducted by the EU4Moldova: Focal Regions Programme, implemented by UNDP and UNICEF. At the same time, two non-governmental organizations received grant certificates of 20,000 EUR each and another three public associations received the support of 1,620 EUR each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ten existing companies and five start-ups from Ungheni region will benefit from financial assistance which will be used to purchase equipment, goods, works and services to grow the respective businesses, to create new jobs and to increase the region’s attractiveness for new investments. Also, the grant program envisages mentoring and training activities to stimulate the entrepreneurial culture of the focal region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beneficiaries of the second edition of the business grants program cover various fields of activity: agriculture, tourism, pastry making, tailoring, construction materials, etc. Overall, supported businesses will create more than 85 permanent and seasonal jobs in Ungheni region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Corina \u021aaranu is an entrepreneur from Ungheni, who since 2008 owned a company that provides sewing services based on contracts. Most of the products crafted by Corina \u021aaranu’s company are exported to Romania, the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy. The grant of 29,994 EUR, but also her own contribution will be invested in the purchase of machines and equipment for the production of children’s clothing collections, but also washable reusable diapers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This support encourages us to be more creative, up to date, organized and free to implement the boldest ideas,\u201d<\/em> said Corina\u00a0\u021aaranu, Director of SRL Karina-Texstyle.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The civic initiatives supported by the EU will help local communities from Ungheni region to solve several issues they face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Viorica S\u0103u represents the public association “Social Alternatives” from Ungheni municipality, which this year obtained a grant of 19,951 EUR. Thanks to this award, the quality of life of the older people and people with disabilities in Ungheni district will be improved by facilitating access to primary and specialized public services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Public services are the guarantor of the well-being of society. This project will offer access to public services to vulnerable people,”<\/em>\u00a0noted Viorica\u00a0S\u0103u, Project Manager, “Social Alternatives” NGO.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a015\u00a0winners of the second call of\u00a0grants\u00a0for business\u00a0launched in May 2021 by the\u00a0EU4Moldova: Focal Regions Programme were\u00a0selected\u00a0through\u00a0a competition\u00a0of\u00a0106\u00a0applications received\u00a0from Cahul and Ungheni regions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The total value of grants for the business sector from Cahul and Ungheni regions that will be offered\u00a0during 2020-2024 in the framework of the EU4Moldova: Focal Regions Programme\u00a0is about\u00a01.7 million EUR. The NGO\u00a0sector will benefit from financial and technical support amounting to\u00a0approx. 90,000 EUR.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
