At the beginning of April, was organized the International Conference of the project financed by<\/p>\n\n\n\n
European Union \u201cAdvancing and monitoring the rights of people with mental disabilities in neuro-<\/p>\n\n\n\n
psychiatric residential institutions\u201d. The Conference reunited national and international experts in<\/p>\n\n\n\n
inclusion domain, key actors for projects implementation, and persons with disabilities who lived in<\/p>\n\n\n\n
residential institutions and now are living in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Projects activities were oriented to raise the awareness of people with disabilities about their rights,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
capacity building of civil society organizations to promote and monitor the implementation of the<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and combating discrimination. The project, in<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the amount of 368 118 Euro, has promoted social inclusion of persons with disabilities, based on<\/p>\n\n\n\n
their rights and equal chances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the most important results was the development of the free Phone support service for<\/p>\n\n\n\n
persons with disabilities \u201cHotline – 080010808\u201d, that received around 3014 calls during two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over 3000 persons were informed about the rights of persons with disabilities. 32 civil society<\/p>\n\n\n\n
organizations were capacitated and got involved in promoting and monitoring of UN Convention on<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Six local organizations benefited from small grants to<\/p>\n\n\n\n
implement projects in the field of social inclusion of persons with disabilities and combating<\/p>\n\n\n\n
discrimination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project \u201cAdvancing and monitoring the rights of people with mental disabilities in neuro-<\/p>\n\n\n\n
psychiatric residential institutions\u201d is financed by European Union and implemented by Keystone<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moldova in partnership with the Alliance of Organizations for Persons with Disabilities from the<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Republic of Moldova, and the European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities.
