{"id":97843,"date":"2021-12-05T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-12-04T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/eu-code-week-hundreds-of-students-and-teachers-have-explored-digital-skills\/"},"modified":"2022-10-31T18:00:09","modified_gmt":"2022-10-31T16:00:09","slug":"eu-code-week-hundreds-of-students-and-teachers-have-explored-digital-skills","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/en\/eu-code-week-hundreds-of-students-and-teachers-have-explored-digital-skills\/","title":{"rendered":"EU CODE WEEK: HUNDREDS OF STUDENTS AND TEACHERS HAVE EXPLORED DIGITAL SKILLS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>Young people from Cahul, Taraclia, Leova and Cantemir rayons (South region of the country) were given the opportunity to explore digital creativity and programming skills during the EU Code Week, a popular initiative held annually with the support of the European Commission to stimulate and promote coding and digital technologies.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The activities were organised as part of EU4Moldova: Startup City Cahul implemented by the National Association of ICT Companies (ATIC) with financial support of the European Union and in partnership with Sweden.<\/p>\n<p>From 9 to 24 October 2021, 259 students from the South region participated in the EU Code Week interactive activities.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-6518\" src=\"https:\/\/eu4moldova.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/n-ix_ed_ro_page_133_1-259x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"346\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Teachers from 12 schools taught primary school children how to develop digital content such as games, stories, animations using the Scratch programming language.<\/p>\n<p>High school students were also invited to celebrate EU Code Week and took part in a hackathon, aiming to identify useful solutions for the community obtained through the application of digital skills. During the academic year, the teams will work to develop a viable digital solution for use in the region, led by a team of mentors, IT and environmental specialists to identify a viable digital solution for the environment of the region. The final projects will be presented to a panel of jury next May.
