The Education and Culture Executive Agency of the European Commission (EACEA) has published the results of the 2022 selection for Erasmus+ Jean Monnet projects. Higher education institutions from the Republic of Moldova won a record number of five Jean Monnet projects totalling 279,243 EUR. These will complement 22 other Jean Monnet projects already implemented at universities across the country.<\/p>\n

Erasmus+ Jean Monnet projects aim to promote excellence in teaching and research in the field of European Union studies worldwide. Through this action, the European Commission aims to promote the dialogue between academia and decision-makers, in particular, with the aim of strengthening the governance of EU policies. Thus, priority is offered to projects that will improve and innovate study programs in the field of the European Union, increase the universities\u2019 capacities to attract excellent students, strengthen cooperation with international partners and increase the allocation of financial resources for teaching and research in the field of EU studies within the institution.<\/p>\n

The winning projects in the 2022 selection for Jean Monnet Actions from the Republic of Moldova are the following: <\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Strengthening democratic sustainability through civic education – Academy of Public Administration;<\/li>\n
  2. European Union – Area of Justice, Security and Freedom – Academy of Public Administration;<\/li>\n
  3. Europeanization of Moldova through a circular economy that works for consumers – Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova;<\/li>\n
  4. EU Studies for Human Rights Protection and Alternative Dispute Resolution – State University of Moldova;<\/li>\n
  5. The European Identity Development Through Culture in the Process of European Integration – Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The topics addressed so far within the Jean Monnet projects by the institutions from the Republic of Moldova were related to the phenomenon of migration in relation to EU security, sustainable industrial development, economic integration in the EU with an emphasis on the agricultural sector, the protection of intellectual property, the development of European identity through culture, but also economic diplomacy as an instrument of foreign policies.<\/p>\n
