South Open Gate of Moldova for Businesses and Investments

Project Description
The project ”South Open Gate of Moldova for Businesses and Investments” is implemented by the Cimislia district in partnership with the Organization for the Development of the Small and Medium Enterprises Sector (ODIMM) and the South Regional Development Agency. The main goal of the project is to promote local economic development by supporting the SME sector and promoting direct investment in the local economy. The duration of the project is 18 months.
Specific Objective
- Enhancing the capacity of services’ providers to support business development in the region to be able to offer high quality training programs and quality consulting services.
- Stimulating the demand for business consulting services from SMEs in South Development Region by setting up an easily accessible quality training, advisory services to improve the competitiveness of SMEs and provide pilot services.
- Establishing the investment profile and identifying local investments’ opportunities in South Development Region.
Expected Results
Elaboration of the mapping report of the consultancy and support service providers in South DR business development:
- Contact Database - Suppliers Register.
- Preparation of the package of advisory services packages and training modules.
- At last 48 people (consultants and trainers) from these 24 providers will be selected and trained.
- The Strategy for setting up and supporting RROCA prepared and implemented; Established regional network and unit of coordination.
- The informative and promotional caravan will include the 8 districts, including rural localities.

4 Pre-incubation spaces organized and arranged within the existing 4 IA, with the necessary facilities:
- Modern tools and training and promotion materials.
- Preparation and implementation of the registered/selected SME advisory and training program.
- At least 144 SMEs participating in training programs within the 8 districts.

Training of at least 288 people among the staff of these SMEs. Training a number of young people in the final years to prepare for entrepreneurship and/or freelancers, on their own (self-employed):
- Entrepreneurship Library (open-space to youth) development within existing incubators.
- Scholarships awarded to young participants during the training to prepare a business plan for a start-up enterprise.
- 8 meetings among the young people and successful entrepreneurs, potential future "business angels" for the former to present their business plan.
- The investment profile of the districts identified.
- Portal with planned and functional investment opportunities.
- Materials to promote investment opportunities in South DR.
- Investment Forum organized in Cimislia.
