Civil Society Advocacy for Inclusive and Fair Elections in Moldova compliant with EU and OSCE/ODIHR recommendations and Human Rights Commitments (2018-2020)

Project Description
The project seeks to advance political representation of women, persons with disabilities, Roma and other under-represented groups. It facilitates dialogue between civil society and political parties to promote inclusion of these groups. The initiative supports the Civic Coalition for Free and Fair Elections to advocate for a legal framework conducive to political inclusion. In addition, the project encourages at least 300 persons (women, Roma and community leaders in Gagauzia) to stand as candidates during the elections.
Specific Objective
- To contribute to fair and inclusive elections in Moldova, in compliance with recommendations of the EU, OSCE/ODIHR and human rights commitments of the country.
Expected Results
- To strengthen the civil society dialogue with political actors for inclusive political participation of women, Roma and other ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities.
- To advocate the necessity to amend the electoral law from the perspective of equality and non-discrimination, compliant to the recommendations of the EU, OSCE/ODIHR and Moldova’s human rights commitments.
- To empower under-represented groups to stand as candidates and demand inclusive elections.
