Supporting cultural development: EU4Culture launches call for towns and cities in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine

02/06/2021

The new EU4Culture project has launched a call for proposals to support non-capital cities and towns in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine to develop cultural development strategies, following the approach of the European Capitals of Culture.

Eligible cities and towns have until 30 June to apply. Five towns or cities will initially be selected per country, receiving a grant of up to €1,000 to develop a full application. Of these, a maximum of three per country will then receive a €30,000 grant to prepare a full Cultural Development Strategy. Finally, one town or city per country will then be awarded a grant of up to €300,000 to implement its strategy.

The ultimate aim of the action is to increase the role of Culture and Creative Industries for economic and social development, through the elaboration and implementation of Cultural Development Strategies based on a participatory approach and public-private dialogue, while preserving and developing multicultural and multi-ethnic dimensions.

Applicants are invited to register and submit their proposals on the Goethe-Institut’s Application Platform (GAP).

The four-year EU4Culture project, funded by the European Union, targets the cultural and creative sector in the Eastern Partnership countries, aiming to support the development of culture as an engine for growth and social development across the region.
