Европейский городок в Единцах – празднование Дня Европы 2022 года в Северном регионе страны
On 21 May 2022, the Delegation of the European Union in the Republic of Moldova, together with the EU Member States Embassies, organised the European Village in Edineț – the largest regional event organised on the occasion of Europe Day 2022 in the northern region of the Republic of Moldova – promoting the culture and values of the European Union, as well as highlighting the assistance provided by the European Union and its Member States, under Team Europe approach, for the benefit of the citizens across the north region and in Edineț Municipality, in particular. The event was organised in the context of the Europe Day 2022, under the overarching theme of SOLIDARITY FOR PEACE.
On 21 May 2022, the European Village opened its gates in Edineț, in the main Independence Square. The one-day event was launched by the Ambassador of the European Union, Jānis Mažeiks, the Director of the North Regional Development Agency and the Mayor of Edineț Municipality, in the company of the national and regional mass media from the Republic of Moldova and local citizens.
The European Village in Edineț show-cased the assistance of the European Union thought the local EU funded projects implemented in the Edineț Municipality and regional EU funded projects, rolled out in the north region of the country. The Village hosted beneficiaries of EU assistance from the north of the country, who came to present their products and communicate about the tangible results, with the support of the European Union.
Throughout the day, the European Village in Edineț comprised numerous activities organised for children and youth.
The fair in Edineț, displayed exhibitions of equipment and vehicles purchased for the Border Police and for Edineț Municipality with EU support, etc
The life in the Village was vivid thanks to the performance of local musicians, singers and dancers, who performed for the visitors.
The European Village in Edineț was visited by the Ambassador of the European Union, Jānis Mažeiks, the President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu, EU Member States representatives, and local authorities.
In the evening, the visitors of the European Village in Edineț enjoyed a concert performed by Moldovan singers the National Moldovan Youth Orchestra, broadcasted live online on the social media of the EU Delegation.
