30 pupils from Chișinău, awarded in the European Parliament in Brussels
10th-grade pupils from “Mihail Sadoveanu” High School in Chișinău, winners of the Special Prize for Moldova in the competition on democracy and digital transformation, were awarded at the European Parliament in Brussels on 22 of May, 2025.

This marks the first time the Republic of Moldova has taken part in the competition, organised by the Authority for European Political Parties and Foundations, in partnership with the Central Electoral Commission of Moldova. These young Moldovans have shown they have a clear vision of democracy in the digital age and are actively engaged in shaping a European future.

The competition, titled “EU Democracy and Digital Transformation: What are the Challenges and Opportunities for Democratic Processes?” , brought together 13 classes from across the country, with students challenged to express their thoughts and visions in writing and video on how digital technology influences European democracy.
The Special Prize for schools in Moldova in the international essay competition organized by the Authority for European Political Parties and European Political Foundations (APPF) was won by the 10th grade B from the “Mihail Sadoveanu” Theoretical High School in Chisinau, under the guidance of teacher Maria Stoian.
