Local public administration trained to access and manage EU funds

About 50 officials from local public authorities (LPAs) of the Republic of Moldova participated in training sessions on European affairs, with a focus on understanding the impact of the European Union accession process on local administration and the role of LPAs in this process.

The participants – mayors, presidents oa raions and other representatives of local public administration – discussed, together with experts from the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA), multi-level governance in the EU, participation in decision-making processes and opportunities for local development.

The training also presented practical examples of how European funds can be accessed and which areas will benefit most from integration.

The event was organized by the Bureau for European Integration (BEI) in collaboration with the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA), with the support of the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the technical assistance programme for Moldova “Support for legal and institutional reforms resulting from the candidate state status” and the EU-funded project “Moldova is Europe – Support for EU integration”.
