Model European Union Lisbon 2025 – free participation for young people from Moldova

19/06/2025

The Model European Union Lisbon 2025 invites young people from Moldova to participate in its activities free of charge, scheduled to take place from 1 to 5 September 2025, in Lisbon, Portugal.

Organised by BETA Portugal, this international event brings together young people from all over the world to step into the shoes of EU policymakers (as Members of the European Parliament or Ministers in the Council of the EU), journalists, and lobbyists. Through debates, strategic negotiations and engaging role play, the participants will gain hands-on insight into how the European Union works. They will also have the chance to attend workshops and talks with international relations professionals and EU experts.

To apply, you should be between 18 and 30 years old, have a good level of English (minimum B2), and be able to attend the entire event in Lisbon.

Participants from Moldova will benefit from full funding: no participation fee is required, and travel, accommodation, meals, and all activities are covered.

Participants from other countries are also welcome to apply. They should cover their travel costs and the participation fee. The fee is €100, which includes four nights of accommodation, all materials, lunch for five days, coffee breaks, and participation in the gala night.

The deadline for applications is 20 June. Fill in the registration form here.

As a reminder, two editions of the Model EU have already taken place in the Republic of Moldova. 100 young people from across the country had the opportunity to participate in the second edition of the Model European Union Moldova (MEU) — an interactive simulation of the EU’s institutional decision-making process — held between 28–30 March 2025, at the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. There, participants took on the roles of Members of the European Parliament, European Commissioners, political advisors, and journalists, engaging in realistic debates and negotiations.
