No lines, no calls: Sismed books appointments with any doctor straight from your phone

Imagine needing to see a doctor. No more phone calls, running between offices, or trying to remember all your appointment dates. Sismed brings everything into one place: quick bookings, automatic notifications, and a clear history of consultations — all through a mobile app.

From idea to prototype in just 2 months

It all started this autumn, when Valeria Leascenco (co-founder, CEO) and Igor Punga (co-founder, CTO), two young design and technology specialists from Chișinău, set out to transform the way people book medical appointments. In just two months of participating in Dreamable, a pre-acceleration program for startups, they already developed a functional prototype of the app.

Initially, the founders worked in the online phase of the program, where they received mentorship and feedback to validate their idea. They then moved on to the offline stage — Starship Bootcamp — deepening their business strategy and technical knowledge. Their efforts were rewarded with the Innovation in Action award, recognizing the startup’s potential to bring real change to the digital health sector.

The Sismed solution

Sismed combines a mobile app for patients with a dashboard for clinics:

● Patients can book appointments quickly, directly from their phone, without calls or waiting, at both public and private clinics.
● Clinics can manage all appointments, patient history, and recommendations in one place, reducing “no-show” rates and saving valuable time.
● All medical data is technically secured and legally processed in compliance with GDPR standards.

Challenges and vision

The founders acknowledge that one of the biggest challenges is integrating into an already existing medical system, both private and public. However, their vision is clear: simple, fast, and secure medical appointments for everyone — reducing patient stress and improving clinic efficiency.

Every time I needed a medical appointment, I noticed the same problem: frustration among patients, receptionists, and doctors, a lot of confusion, and wasted time. Access to healthcare, which should be simple and natural, ends up creating unnecessary difficulties.

What’s next

In the coming years, Sismed aims to expand to more clinics across Moldova, followed by regional scaling, with the goal of becoming a standard in the digitalization of medical appointments.
