12 new localities from Cahul and Ungheni will use Social Innovation to promote Gender Equality

Representatives of local public authorities and the multidisciplinary teams from 12 new partner localities of Ungheni and Cahul districts participated in a two-weeks training and learned how to transform their communities into gender equality champions using social innovation, behavioural science, design thinking and positive deviance.

The participants from Pelinei, Cucoara, Alexanderfeld, Vadul lui Isac, Alexandru Ioan Cuza, Baurci-Moldoveni from Cahul district and Cornești village, Cornești town, Costuleni, Sculeni, Teșcureni, Valea Mare from Ungheni district worked in teams and analysed the problems from their communities in terms of meeting the actual needs of women and men, girls, and boys, reflected on the changes in their localities, and identified innovative solutions for their communities’ challenges.

The trainings were held by the Danish company WIN, as part of EVA Project “Strengthened Gender Action in Cahul and Ungheni districts”, funded by the European Union and implemented by UN Women in partnership with UNICEF.
