80,000 EUR grants programme for NGOs from Cahul and Ungheni started off

A grants programme worth 80,000 EUR intended to support the nongovernmental organisations from the regions of Cahul and Ungheni was launched on 1 July. The financial assistance comes from the European Union as part of the EU4Moldova: Focal Regions Programme funded by the EU and implemented by UNDP and UNICEF.

The grants will go to NGOs registered in the districts of Cahul and Ungheni for projects that contribute to a better access of vulnerable groups to existing, new, or improved public services.

This call for applications will lead to the selection of at least four project proposals that will receive the financing. The maximum amount requested per project shall not exceed 20,000 EUR.

It is key to mention that the EU4Moldova: Focal Regions Programme has carried out a research of the most critical issues related to the provision of public services and the access of vulnerable groups to them in the districts of Ungheni and Cahul.

The EU4Moldova: Focal Regions Programme (2019 – 2024) supports intelligent, environmentally friendly, inclusive, and sustainable social-economic development in the regions of Cahul and Ungheni to ensure a better quality of life for citizens. The program has a total budget of 23 million EUR and is financed by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
