European green transition initiatives promoted in the northern capital, Bălți

At the end of May, the team of the EU project “Covenant of Mayors – East” participated in the forum “Green Transition, Bălți – a City for People,” where strategies and solutions for transforming the city of Bălți into a green, ecological, and innovative Centre by 2030 were discussed.The forum brought together high-level officials, state secretaries from the Ministries of Energy and Environment, local authorities, civil society, educational institutions and experts involved in creating a sustainable future for the city of Bălți.One of the highlights of the event was the informative workshop focused on the initiatives and achievements of the Covenant of Mayors, providing a platform for the exchange of knowledge and information on joint efforts in the fight against climate change and the reduction of traditional energy resource consumption. Thanks to the CoM-East Project it was possible to attend the exhibition of innovative technologies used for the implementation of projects in the field of renewable energy. Additionally, a workshop was dedicated to highlighting the achievements of the “Green School” project. This educational initiative had a crucial impact on educating and raising awareness among students, teachers, and the community in general, regarding sustainable practices among the 12 participating schools.The forum “Green Transition, Bălți – a City for People” demonstrated the commitment and determination of the local community, authorities, and experts to make Bălți an example of sustainable development.
