64 young people received their graduation certificates from the Internship Programme of the European Union and the Government of the Republic of Moldova in a festive ceremony

64 de tineri și-au primit certificatele de absolvire ale Programului de stagii al Uniunii Europene și Guvernului Republicii Moldova în cadrul unei ceremonii festive

The event was attended by Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Ambassador of the European Union to Moldova Jānis Mažeiks, both of them mentioning the young people’s strong motivation and enthusiasm. The officials welcomed the commitment of the programme’s graduates and encouraged them to pursue a career in the civil service, contributing to the country’s EU integration efforts.

The interns spent two months in public institutions, working side by side with civil servants and being mentored by the EU High Level Advisers. They also benefited from weekly information sessions on various topics of the public administration, gaining in-depth knowledge on a multitude of subjects.

Programme’s finalists have been selected following a very rigorous and competitive selection process, comprising from a competition of CVs and cover letters, followed by interviews with representatives of the Government, the European Union Delegation and EU High Level Advisers. Monthly, interns received a 200 euro allowance, the Programme being fully financed by the European Union.

The third edition of the Programme is also the most numerous one; the first and second edition resulting in 47 and 29 graduates, accordingly, some of which already having started their career in the public administration.

In premiere, graduates have the possibility to enter the civil service without competition and without a testing period, if they complete a minimum number of 480 hours of internship in the beneficiary institutions – a facility introduced by the Law on paid internships in state institutions this year.
