The European Union Delegation in Chisinau participates in the EU Accession Chief Negotiators’ Forum, which takes place in Moldova
The third edition of the EU Chief Negotiators Forum is being held at the end of November in the Republic of Moldova and is organised by the European Commission, through the TAIEX instrument, in cooperation with the Bureau for European Integration. Through this event, for three days, the country becomes the centre of discussions on European integration and the transformations made by the countries that are currently negotiating their accession to the European Union.
‘It is an honour for us to welcome current and former chief negotiators in Chisinau, as well as experts from the European institutions and several coordinators of the negotiation process from candidate countries and EU Member States. We are sharing experiences and good practices in the negotiation process with our colleagues from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro and Ukraine’, said Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov.
During the Forum, the practical elements and lessons learned from the elaboration of roadmaps, of the implementation program of European legislation, but also on the way to prepare negotiating positions, especially on complex chapters such as agriculture or transport.
‘We have so much to learn from each other on this common road we are on: how to align national legislation to EU law; how to modernise institutions and society, thus making life better for every citizen; and how to respond to challenges in the most efficient ways,’ said Cristina Gherasimov.
Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration added that the process of European integration is different from one country to another, but the final goal is the same: to contribute to peace and prosperity of all citizens.
