Every year from 23 to 30 September, the European Week of Sport promotes more active and healthier lifestyles to millions of people in Europe and beyond. Under the overarching campaign slogan #BeActive, every year, the European Week of Sport helps to tackle the inactivity crisis.
The latest figures reveal that levels of participation in sport and physical activity in the EU and beyond are stagnating, and even falling in some regions. The knock-on effects are clear. Not only does this lead to physical and mental health problems at an individual level, but also has more significant negative impacts on the economy and society at large. Let’s change the dynamics. It’s so simple. Choose to be active.
