Chisinau and Balti to host European Researchers’ Night in Moldova – Join on 25 September
On 25 September, Chișinău and Bălți will host the 13th edition of European Researchers’ Night in the Republic of Moldova.
European Researchers’ Night, celebrating science and innovation, is a European Union initiative funded under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions, which aims to bring researchers closer to the general public, demonstrate the diversity and impact of science, and motivate young people to choose a research career. Every year the event is organised in over 400 European cities and attracts over 2 million visitors.
The event in Moldova is organised by the EU-funded project Sci-TRUST ‘Fostering trust in science’, which focuses on combating misinformation, promoting careers in research and STEAM fields and strengthening the connections between education and research.
“As the Republic of Moldova advances in the EU accession process, rebuilding the relationship between science and society becomes essential for democratic participation and integration into the European Research Area,” says the event page.
This year in Chișinău and Bălți, researchers will meet with the public and present their work through hands-on experiments, science shows, games, quizzes, contests, exhibitions and digital activities.
The programme includes an ECO Fashion Show (TUM Design Faculty), presentation of research results by R&D organisations, an exhibition and contest titled ‘Creation opens the Universe’, interactive activities for children and master-classes, an open night at the Planetarium (Chișinău) / in Research Laboratories (Bălți), and a musical show.
In Chișinău, the event will take place at UTM Park on Studenților Street. In Bălți, the Night will take place in the square of the ‘Alecu Russo’, State University on Pușkin Street.
The project Sci-TRUST ‘Fostering trust in science: European Researchers’ Night’ is funded by the European Union programme for research and innovation Horizon Europe.
