At the “Grigore Vieru” High School, 150,000 euros from the EU supported the modernization of learning spaces. In Tabani, an apple-producing company received 200,000 lei in support from the EU for an electric forklift that facilitates harvest collection. In Șirăuți, Natalia Zota’s household benefits from a European grant for modernizing agricultural equipment and streamlining work.
For vulnerable families, EU investments in energy efficiency mean support for insulating houses, replacing windows, and modernizing the heating system, as well as a major help in reducing bill expenses. Together, these projects address concrete needs: better learning conditions, lower energy costs, and local businesses better prepared for export to the European market.

Briceni High School: Learning through experiments and experiences
At the “Grigore Vieru” High School in Briceni, European Union support contributed to the renovation of classrooms and the modernization of physics, chemistry, and biology laboratories. Students can work with microscopes, robots, and wireless sensors, bringing lessons closer to practical applications. Formulas and concepts from textbooks can thus be tested and understood through experiments. EU investment: 150,000 euros.
Larga: More comfort, more safety on the streets
In Larga, the “smart village” project brings improvements to places used daily by people in the community. The “Anatol Dumitraș” Cultural Center was equipped with a modern heating system, pedestrian crossings with additional lighting, and radars installed in the locality help monitor speed. The works were carried out with European support worth 1.5 million lei, through Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova.
Șirăuți: Modernizing the family agricultural business
Natalia Zota and her family started working in agriculture in 2013. Today, the household manages 16 hectares of apple orchards and 34 hectares of grains. From the European grant of 255,000 lei, the family purchased equipment for agricultural work and harvest management.
Tabani: EU assistance for simpler apple harvesting
FG Company from Tabani cultivates apples on approximately 17 hectares and exports including to the European Union market. With the help of a European grant worth 200,000 lei accessed through ODA, the company bought a modern electric forklift. The equipment simplifies the movement and loading of production – ensuring more efficient work organization after harvest.
Larga: One of the 5 photovoltaic parks in Moldova
Larga is one of the five localities selected for the construction of photovoltaic parks with European funding. The energy produced, with a planned capacity of up to 200 kW, is intended for community consumption to reduce local electricity costs. The project also includes monitoring and security systems for the facility.
Villages of the district: Warmer homes, lower bills
Families in the Briceni district benefit from support for the energy renovation of homes: wall insulation, roof rehabilitation, window and door replacement, or heating modernization – the EU covers 50% of the expenses of 13 families in Briceni and Sîngerei through a project implemented by FEERM.
