European Day of Languages: Celebrating Unity in Diversity

Different languages, the same joy of getting to know one another. That’s how we celebrated the European Day of Languages in Chișinău on 25 September. The celebration brought together members of Euro Clubs and EU Information Centres from across the country.

The courtyard of the “Vasile Alecsandri” Theoretical Lyceum in Chișinău — our event venue — was filled with smiles, colours, traditions and activities.

We were delighted to welcome the Ambassadors of Latvia and Greece, as well as representatives of the Embassies of Austria, Romania and Italy and the EU Delegation.

Together with our guests and participants, we explored Europe’s diversity through traditional food, creative activities and themed experiences dedicated to different countries and languages. Each activity was an invitation to discover another culture, ask questions and start a conversation.

Beyond words and pronunciation, learning a language helps us better understand people, their traditions and the way they see the world. And this gathering reminded us once again that you don’t have to speak a language perfectly to take the first step towards a conversation.
