08/04/2020

On February 16, Erasmus Student Network Chișinău became the official member of the international ESN network. Therefore, Moldova became the 42nd country to be officially included on the ESN International map.

ESN Chișinău brings together Erasmus+ scholarship beneficiaries from all the Moldovan universities, and also international students who have chosen to study in higher education institutions from Moldova via Erasmus+.

During the whole process of creating and growing of ESN Chișinău, the organisation had the full support of The National Erasmus+ Office in Moldova – the official representative in the country of the European Union program for education, training, youth and sport. National Erasmus+ Office strongly supports the establishing of a sustainable Erasmus+ community via Moldovan universities and ESN Chișinău, and the promotion of opportunities for cultural understanding and self-development under the principle of Students Helping Students.

The fact that ESN Chișinău became the member of the international network means that presently all Erasmus+ international students will have access to the full spectrum of events and services offered by ESN network, including the ESNcard, which offers diverse opportunities during the mobility period and support during the process of integration into the local community.

It’s very important to have an Erasmus Student Network section in Moldova, as it shows our interest for European values and readiness for more international students. I would say that each Erasmus semester is a life-changing experience and ESN is there to make this path as amazing as possible”, declared Olivia Gheorghiță, President ESN Chișinău”.

In Moldova Erasmus+ program exists since 1994 and is continuously evolving. Only during the last 6 years more than 2500 students and teachers have benefited from the International Credit Mobility program in the European Union universities, and 34 Jean Monnet and capacity building Erasmus+ programs have been implemented in 25 Moldovan universities.
