EU Talks in the High School of Varnița, Anenii Noi

On Friday, together with the EU Ambassador in Chisinau, Jānis Mažeiks, we visited the High School in Varnița, gathering more than 300 pupils every day, including the ones coming from Bender, left of the Nistru River. We talked with the young people and the teachers about the possibilities of education and exchange of experience with European countries, but also about the entire path that Moldova has already passed on its way to the European Union.

Discussing the European future of Moldova with the pupils and teachers from Varnița village, Anenii Noi district.

Jānis Mažeiks: “If two years ago we were discussing about the EU as a reliable and supportive partner of Moldova in its development, then now I can say for sure that the Republic of Moldova is a future member state of the European Union. We believe that the Moldovan Government will continue to show willingness and we will continue working together to bring this moment closer.”

The High School in Varnița is the only educational institution in the locality where the pupils are taught in the Romanian language. We are glad that the young people showed their interest and the Q&A session was an active one.

The activity took place within the EU Talks initiative, aimed at bringing more information and direct interaction between young people from Moldova and European diplomatic missions accredited in Chisinau.
