EU Talks: pupils from Cărpineni discussed with the ambassadors of Sweden, France, Germany and Belgium

Europe is getting closer to the young people of Moldova. On March 19, 2024, the EU Talks series of events arrived at the “Ștefan Holban” High School in Cărpineni, Hîncești district. Hundreds of teenagers and young people had the opportunity to talk with four ambassadors of the member countries of the European Union:

Katarina Fried, Ambassador of Sweden to the Republic of Moldova

Margret Uebber, Ambassador of Germany to the Republic of Moldova

Graham Paul, Ambassador of France to the Republic of Moldova

Evert Maréchal, Ambassador of Belgium to the Republic of Moldova

They participated in the Q&A session on the following topics:

  • EU assistance for Moldova,
  • EU opportunities for business development in rural areas,
  • The EU accession process of Moldova and the role of young people in the modernization of the country.

The teenagers also got to know the Young European Ambassadors from 7 European countries, who presented them with the European educational programs and their countries’ cultures. In addition to the opportunity to discuss the European path of Moldova, the young people also could virtually travel, using VR glasses, to the most beautiful cities in Europe.

This activity is part of the series of EU Talks events within the “European Year of Skilss” and will continue in other localities of the Republic of Moldova. The project aims to bring more information and direct interaction between the young people of Moldova and the accredited European diplomatic missions in Chisinau.
