EU4GenderEquality: The European Union supports gender equality in the Republic of Moldova
The European Union has been actively contributing to educating society and tackling gender-based stereotypes and violence in Moldova through numerous programmes and initiatives.
On 27th September, the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova joined UNFPA and UN Women Moldova in discussing efforts to strengthen equal rights and opportunities for women and men, while exploring ways to encourage community involvement in combating gender stereotypes.
Supporters of gender equality, officials, and representatives from civil society and public authorities came together at the “Partnerships for Strong Communities” event, organised as part of the second phase of the regional programme, “EU4GenderEquality: Together against gender stereotypes and gender-based violence.”
The event provided a platform for networking, fostering partnerships, sharing insights, and exploring opportunities for collaboration to further gender equality initiatives at the local level.
This initiative is part of the “EU4GenderEquality: Together against gender stereotypes and gender-based violence” programme, Phase II, funded by the European Union and jointly implemented by UNFPA Moldova and UN Women Moldova.
