EU4Moldova: Startup City Cahul project helps speed up regional digitization

The city of Cahul will offer more digital services designed to reduce physical effort, travel time or time spent in waiting rooms, but also to improve the quality of life for people in the region. To speed up the digitalization process at the local level, Cahul City Hall undertook a documentary visit to the E-Governance Agency (AGE).

The visit was facilitated by EU4Moldova: Startup City Cahul, a project that will support the city’s further digitalization efforts. During the event, the participants made short presentations of the main digital platforms and services which can be used by local public authorities and sketched future actions to build cooperation between Chisinau and Cahul.

The digitalization of the region will provide broader opportunities to its residents, such as access to quality goods and services; new ways of communication; more transparent public services; easier access to information of regional interest, knowledge and culture, etc. EU4Moldova: Startup City Cahul is implemented in 2020-2024 by ATIC with the financial support of the European Union partnered with Sweden. The initiative addresses the sustainable socio-economic development of the Cahul municipality and neighbouring locations, complementing the regional coverage of EU’s development assistance provided to Moldova. The project supports, in particular, economic development through innovation, entrepreneurship and employment for SMEs outside the country’s capital.
