EU4Regions: Programme for young journalists

The European Commission launches the EU4Regions training program for journalism students and young journalists to learn about all aspects of cohesion policy.

The European Commission launches the EU4Regions training program for journalism students and young journalists to learn about all aspects of cohesion policy.

The program offers journalism students and young journalists a week-long apprenticeship in Brussels in October 2024, during which successful candidates will attend training sessions, receive mentoring from more experienced journalists, work with them in the newsroom press, and visit the different EU institutions and media organizations.

Applications are accepted in three categories:

– general journalism
– photojournalism
– video journalism

The call is open for journalism students and young journalists from the EU member states, neighboring countries, and accession countries.

The successful winners will also be considered for the prestigious Megalizzi — Niedzielski Prize, awarded on October 9, 2024, and dedicated to recognizing the remarkable work of young journalists.

Youth4Regions is the Commission’s flagship initiative to foster the growth of journalism students and young journalists by providing direct interaction with the EU. Since its launch in 2017, more than 210 people from across Europe have completed the program, benefiting from its enriching experiences and valuable knowledge.

The application form and conditions of participation are available on the program webpage: https://ec.europa.eu/regional_policy/policy/communication/partnership-with-media/youth4regions_en

The application period remains open until July 8, 2024. The European Commission will cover all program costs for participants.
