EU4Youth – Social Innovation Impact – a strategic partnership
This project aims to connect young entrepreneurs from Romania, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, and help them develop their capacity and support the establishment of a favorable ecosystem for social entrepreneurship in these three countries.
The Project’s main objective is to foster the empowerment of the entrepreneurial potential of young people from Moldova and Ukraine in social entrepreneurship, notably to contribute to social cohesion, employment, inclusion and reduction of inequalities.
Specifically, the project aims to:
– Raise awareness among young people in Moldova and Ukraine about the impact of social entrepreneurship in the community.
– Establish social innovation labs to provide information and support for start-ups, and incubate several social enterprises implemented by young people.
– Support the development of a favorable ecosystem for social enterprises in Moldova and Ukraine.
Alliances created with civil society, local and national authorities, universities and business for the elaboration of public policies in the field of social entrepreneurship: for Moldova, this will include a proposal to establish a national programme for financing start-ups; for Ukraine, it will include a legislative framework for recognizing social entrepreneurship.
The first upcycling studio in the Republic of Moldova was founded by Romanita Alexeev, a young woman from Chisinau who launched this social business after participating in the EU4Youth – Social Innovation Impact project, funded by the European Union.
Reinvent was inspired by the desire to save and recycle many good things that often end up in the trash. It’s a place where creative reinventors spark their imaginations and give new lives to old objects.
Romanita was actively looking for opportunities to implement her idea when she came across information about the EU4Youth project. After completing a social entrepreneurship course, he entered the Accelerator of Social Enterprises Competition and won a grant of 7,500 euros.
