Fruit Garden of Moldova: a successful agricultural business story in Zgurita village

Maxim Burlacu is 27 years old from Zgurita Village. He is fond of agriculture, being acquainted with this field since childhood as his parents have farmed the lands their whole life. Following the graduation from the secondary school, Maxim enrolled in an agricultural college, and then deepened his knowledge at the university.

Nowadays, Maxim is a businessman in the horticulture industry. Overall, he manages 83 hectares of orchard, including cherry, sour cherry, apricot, summer apple, plum and autumn apple trees. With the financial assistance of the EU and EIB, in the framework of the EIB Fruit Garden project, Maxim applied for a loan of 120,000 EUR and managed to develop a successful business.
