Gender mainstreaming in local strategies in 12 communities across Cahul and Ungheni Districts

Over 40 male and female representatives of local public authorities, local councils, and women active in different areas of 12 communities of Cahul and Ungheni districts, benefited, in May 2021, of a series of trainings focused on gender mainstreaming in local strategies.

Those 12 settlements from Cahul district – Andrusul de Jos, Larga Noua, Slobozia Mare, Valeni, Zarnesti communes and Cahul municipality, and Ungheni district – Manoilesti, Macaresti, Parlita, Radenii Vechi, Zagarancea communes and Ungheni municipality, are partners in the project “Local Partnerships for Women’s Empowerment in Cahul and Ungheni districts.”

The topics, discussed during the trainings, were about gender analysis of a community, areas of analysis, profile of a gender-sensitive community, identifying gender needs, gender analysis of local strategy elements, etc.

The project “Local Partnerships for Women’s Empowerment in Cahul and Ungheni districts” is implemented by IP CRAION CONTACT-Cahul and by the Civil Association “Institutum Virtutes Civilis” through EVA Project, funded by European Union and implemented by UN Women Moldova, in partnership with UNICEF Moldova.
