At the initiative of the General Police Inspectorate, a project dedicated to organizing training sessions on using specialized software for investigating complex cases of transnational organized crime, human trafficking, and economic crimes continues.

Over three days (February 24-26), 20 investigative officers from the General Police Inspectorate attended an intensive course on using the “Maltego” software solution, a tool essential for analyzing data from open sources. The sessions were led by Maltego company experts with extensive experience in data analysis and crime investigation.

Maltego is an information analysis and visualization tool used for OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) investigations and cybersecurity. It allows the correlation and exploration of data from various sources to identify connections between entities, used by analysts in security, law enforcement, and investigative journalists.

The training was organized with the support of the European Commission through the Foreign Policy Instruments Service, in collaboration with German authorities. Thanks to the continuous support of partners, investigative officers received data analysis license packages for “Maltego” and licenses for financial transaction analysis “Chainalysis,” learning to apply them in their daily activities.
