New opportunities for young people: the second edition of the EU Internship Programme, launched on 4 May

A new edition of the Internship Programme in state institutions, aiming to build the capacities of young graduates, raise their interest but also enhance their chances to start a career in the civil service, was launched on 4 May. The 2023 edition is designed to provide the chance to motivated students of the final year of studies, master students and recent graduates to spend two months in a paid internship in state institutions, being mentored by EU High Level Advisers and working hand in hand with civil servants. The Programme is entirely funded by the European Union.

The opening ceremony took place in the Cahul State University ‘B.P.Hasdeu’ and gathered over 100 students eager to learn about the opportunity. During the event, representatives of the Government, of the EU Delegation to Moldova and EU High Level Advisers shared the stories of their professional lives and answered the questions of potential interns.

The selection process of the Programme is highly competitive: after the application procedure, comprising of a CV and a motivation letter, the short-listed candidates will be interviewed by a Selection Committee involving Government & EU officials, and the finalists will be enrolled in the two-months programme. Over the course of June-August, the selected interns will spend two full months in state institutions like the Prime Minister’s Office, the State Chancellery, line ministries and agencies, as well as the Presidential Administration.

Last year’s pilot edition of the Programme included 47 interns, out of which some have already started their careers in the civil service.
