Technical Assistance Mission on the improvement of academic professional competencies of university staff

The National Erasmus+ Office in Moldova has organised on February 25-26, 2019, a Technical Assistance mission on the improvement of academic professional competencies of university staff from Moldova.

The main speakers of the event were the experts from the European Universities Association, Jon Turner, director of the Institute for Academic Development, University of Edinburgh (United Kingdom) and Catherine Bovill, senior lecturer in student engagement within the same institution.

The two-day event consisted of a plenary session and bilateral meetings with rectors and vice-rectors of Moldovan HEIs.

The experts have visited Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University, State University of Medicine and Pharmacy Nicolae Testemițanu, Technical University of Moldova, Moldova State University, and Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, discussions being focused on the training of the academic staff and diversification of teaching methods within the higher education institutions.

The national seminar has gathered more than 70 university professors and administrative university staff, being hosted by the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (AESM). At the event have participated as well, Fabien Schaeffer, programme officer at the European Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, Doina Usaci, the representative of Policy Department for Higher Education from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova, and Grigore Belostecinic, the rector of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova.

The event has been organised by the National Erasmus+ Office with the support of the SPHERE (Support and Promotion for Higher Education Reform Experts), EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova. The event is part of the Higher Education Reform Experts Erasmus+ activities (Key Action 3: Support for policy reform).
